We thought you might need some new tunes to put on your travel playlist for the Holidays, so here’s some nu metal & new metal sprinkled throughout a varietal smorgasbord of sounds.
Limp Bizkit ~ “Dad Vibes”
I’m still stuck on Dad Vibes just due to the absurdity of there being a Limp Bizkit album in 2021.

Catfish and the Bottlemen ~ “7”
Catfish and the Bottlemen are a band from the UK. The song title is the time difference between the US and the UK. I believe the song is about them touring and a long distance relationship during this timeframe. For me personally, it hits home. I’ve been seeing a person that has feelings for me but doesn’t want to be in a relationship. It makes me think of that situation.
Specifically lyrics like “And I love you but I need another year alone” along with “And I’ve tried to Ignore it every time you phone, But I never come close”
In the song he wants to be with this person, but he can’t physically be with her. He loves her but with the time difference and lifestyle difference, he still needs to choose himself over putting anything into the relationship.

Plexi ~ “Roller Rock Cam”
**Presented without comment by the esteemed L. Hardy.**
The Mountain Goats ~ “No Children”
This song is what the band would have played on the deck of the Titanic as it sank if the Titanic were a romantic relationship captained by Ahab.

Nekrogoblikon ~ “Bears”
This song needs no description. I’ll let the reviews speak for themselves.
Foundation for Real (not fake) Education: “A thorough educational documentary on the life of a bear.”
Waiting Room and Elevator Tunes Monthly: “A soft sonnet employing smooth melodies of Scandinavian influence.”
Apocalypse Shelter Periodical (only we know your address): “This song gave me one more reason to never go outside while these savage creatures roam the Earth.”

Lamb of God ~ “Resurrection Man”
Live. Album version. Both are fucking badass. Even my 12-foot skeleton Hades rocked out to this above our graveyard during Spooky season. He *was* born in a cemetary…
